This past weekend I was able to attend the services of SSGT James Ray. The town of Kittanning, PA welcomed him home is a fashion to talk about for days. He was escorted by a helicopter, Fire truck, local and state officers. I was welcomed in like family and made to feel at home. The morning of the service I sat, watched, and cried because I seen his brothers and sister with tears of joy coming down their face. The nieces, nephews, cousins, etc… of SSGT Ray was there to see their parents experience a moment they had waited 62 years for. I stood in the cemetery taking in everything and saying my goodbyes to Jamie, Rubin, and Officer Denny when a man walked up to me and stated his name was Richard and he was the brother of Ray. He wanted to personally thank me helping them to have this moment their parents died longing for.
Mr. Richard, Mr. George, Mr. Donald, Mr. Perry, Mrs. Shirley and Mrs. Martha Thank you for allowing me to share that moment with you.
You’re his witness now. Without a witness, they just disappear … (Taking Chance)
We are now their witness~Tonja
