Two airmen killed in 1952 crash in Alaska identified

Two more of the 52 service members who were killed in 1952 when a C-124 Globemaster II crashed in Alaska have been identified, the Air Force announced on Thursday.

The Armed Forces Medical Examiner at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, recently completed the identification of Air Force Capt. Walter Perrin Tribble and Airman 2nd Class Bernis F. White, whose remains were recovered from the Colony Glacier in 2014, officials said.

Their families will be offered burial with full military honors, according to an Air Force news release.
